MC CAMMON, Matthew: No data is given on a stone since there is none erected, but it is known that he is buried her; Matthew is a Veteran of the Revolutionary War and his service record is published in the Roster of Soldiers and Patriots of the American Revolution Buried in Indiana, published by the Indiana Daughters of American Revolution, 1938; Born in County Antrim, Ireland in 1757, he died in Carlisle, Indiana, October 6, 1841. His pension claim is listed as S 17578; his grave is decorated by the American Legion on Memorial Day; Waldon A. McBride of Crown Point, husband of the regent of chapter compiling these records is a descendent of William McCammon, one of the children of Matthew and _____Trimble.

The Milam Cemetery, Haddon Township, Sullivan County is located on the Owen Ridgeway farm near the old ice pond, north of Paxton, INdiana. Matthew McCammon's grave is in this group. The cemetery is on a slight rise of ground at the base of an old black oak tree. |
