Poem
Doug, when I first met you, I was caught up in a whirlwind of excitement around you. It was not so long after that, Chris came into your life. I had a front row seat to watch a growing love. Thru the years I've never seen two people more in love. We've had great times four wheeling in floods and snow storms. You would always stop to help someone out. You lived more in a minute than some do in a lifetime. The camping and fishing and watersports will always bring back great memories. Some of the best times in my life were spent around campfires with you and Chris and good friends. Over the years of knee-boarding, we would talk about perfect waves. I know now that you found your wave and it broke on the shores of heaven.

Best Friend always, Greg

I remember the house we built on paper,
all of our friends were gonna live there.
We were so young then,
we believed it could happen.

I remember when he laughed aloud,
His eyebrows danced up and down.
Ask me now and I'd give a limb,
to hear that laugh again from him.

I remember when I was really sad,
He would always say, "Its not so bad".
He'd rock me in silence or hold my hand,
and make me see that I could withstand.

He was a true friend throughout,
of his friendship there was no doubt.
Time and distance can pull you apart,
but his memories are locked in my heart.

God decided to take his life,
and leave behind his beautiful wife.
For nineteen years he was my friend,
I never thought about the end.
