Sons Of Union Veterans

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is the Legal Heir to, and represents the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). The SUVCW was organized November 12th, 1881. It was incorporated by an Act of Congress in 1954. It is composed of the National Organization, Departments (States), and Local and Regional Camps, Organized in Cities, and States across the Nation.

Membership requirements are: (FULL MEMBERSHIP) - You must show written proof of direct or colineal decendency from a Union Veterans of the Civil War. (ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP) - Men who show a genuine interest in the Civil War. Age Requirements are 14 years and older. Dues are assesed by each local camp. According to Family Records, He would Have Been Mustered in around 1862-1863. He is Buried in the Leamon Cemetery in Crawford County, Illinois.
